16x Dither Bush Set (GIMP)

This is a set of basic 16x16 pixel brushes of monochrome state that can be set to any color representing a full spectrum of 1-bit (binary) dithering. From this basic form, many more advanced techniques can be evoked from the set, speeding the process of making large pixel art works.

The range encompasses the traditional standard of dithering patterns for a 16 step gradient ranging from full to void.

The different brushes can be layered into and over each other in off-grid patterns, or have their color inverted to "erase" back into themselves. You can of course also do traditional pixel art drawing, going back into the groundwork to refine the results.

Being a GIMP standard brush, you can muck about with color, opacity, etc., allowing some truly lovely effects. In the color example, I was able to create a texturing which resembles chalk pastels on canvas or heavy tooth paper, despite this being a pixel technique!
